Blue Onion offers a variety of drafting and design services to homeowners, builders and remodelers.  In addition to kitchens and bathrooms we can work with you on the following.

  • Drafting Plans
  • Color Consultation
  • Space Planning
  • Staging to sell

Analysis Consultation - This will be our first meeting.  We will take some time to talk about your goals for this project. Prepare for the meeting by bringing photos of the space and rough dimensions.  Consider how the remodeled space should  work for you.  How would you like the room to look?  Create a file of photos from magazines or an idea book on Houzz.  If you have product allowances from your remodeler, be sure to bring a copy.  We will talk about what function the room serves.  You may browse through our portfolio for ideas.  The first one hour meeting is free of charge.  An estimate of cost of design services can usually be presented by the end of the meeting.  Our fees are based on the size of your project.  A deposit is due before proceeding.

Formulate Plan
Once we have your approval to proceed, a concept drawing is prepared.  This will show a possible plan for the
space.  Kitchen and bath projects will be checked with the NKBA guidelines for efficiency and code standards.  Some product research may be done at this time.  While this sketch will be drawn with computer assisted drafting, it will not yet show all the details of the finished project.  This will give us a structure to discuss the details.

Evaluation - Basic sketches of the design concept will be presented at a second meeting.  These drawings will include a   computer generated floor plan and elevations.  A 3D perspective might be included if required for clarification.   After the second meeting, more details will be added to the drawing.  Product selections can be added after shopping trips.  A site visit will be scheduled to confirm all dimensions.

Selections - We will choose all of the products that will be used in your project.  This is usually accomplished in two
meetings.  One meeting sometimes takes place at your home to view samples and the revised drawings.  The second meeting will be a shopping trip. We will visit mainly to the trade showrooms to find just the right products to create a unique design with your budget in mind.
